Bed bugs in Milton Keynes: treatment options and real prices
The two main approaches
| Method | How it works | Published price (MK area) |
|---|---|---|
| Residual insecticide, 2 visits | Visits typically 10–14 days apart; the second catches nymphs hatched from eggs the first couldn't reach | From £300 per room for the 2-visit course; extra visits from £60 (PestBait bed bug prices) |
| Heat treatment | Room/property heated to kill all life stages, usually one session, with targeted chemicals where needed | Whole property from £895 (ThermoPest MK page) |
Local firm Beds & Bucks Pest Control describes inspection, residual insecticide, steam/heat where appropriate, monitoring for about a month afterwards, and access to bed bug sniffer dogs.
Before the visit
- Ask for preparation instructions in writing before booking (PestBait states it explains prep before you book).
Questions to ask
- Is the price per room or whole property, and does it include the second visit?
- Is there a guarantee? (ThermoPest states a 12-week guarantee on complete heat treatments.)
- Are technicians BPCA/NPTA members or RSPH Level 2 qualified?
Prices are each firm's own published guide prices, read 2026-10-16; actual quotes depend on survey.

FAQs
How much is bed bug treatment in Milton Keynes?
Published guide prices: PestBait from £300 per room for a two-visit insecticide course; ThermoPest whole-property heat treatment from £895.
Why does bed bug treatment need two visits?
Eggs are protected from many insecticides, so a second visit about 10–14 days later kills nymphs that have since hatched.
Does Milton Keynes Council treat bed bugs?
No. The council recommends a professional pest controller for problems inside the home.
